Paris 2024 Legacy Adventure

Paris 2024 was an epic journey for our team. Just like the archetypical hero’s journey, we went through so many phases:

Accepting the call, back in 2022, when we started negotiations to deliver technology for seven venues during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and two venues during the Paralympic Games.

Walking the initial steps of the journey, in early 2023, with the beginning of planning and site visits to our first venue, Yves-de-Manoir, in Colombes.

Gathering our allies, in January 2023, when our first Venue Technology Manager (VTM) initiated his work; then between July 2023 and March 2024, when we onboarded all our VTMs and VITMs; and finishing in July 2024, when we welcomed our last Deputy VTM.

Facing obstacles, which were present from the planning phase to the last day of delivery – after all, one of the reasons we are experts in our area is our ability to navigate human and technical issues while delivering the biggest and most important events in the world!

Finding the treasures, in the form of the amazing team spirit we build during the weekly calls with people dialling in from multiple countries; our live gatherings in Lausanne and in Paris; the friendships we built with people working for other teams; and the support our partners gave us during the Games, which continues as promising collaborations in the near future.

And last, but not least, the celebration! The small celebrations, as we completed each deliverable and reached each milestone; the celebration of seeing the seven venues full and operating, with athletes looking great and fans having a wonderful time; and the celebration of closing and debriefing this amazing adventure through informal conversations and our Paris Download event in November 2024.

Now it is time to pause and let the seeds we gathered grow in the fertile soil of our hearts and creative minds, so the legacy of this event leads to even better deliveries for our next sports events!

To keep that legacy alive in our minds, what better reminder than a Paris 2024 T-shirt signed by everyone on our diverse team from multiple countries and backgrounds? That T-shirt travelled to six cities in France and ended up in Lausanne, where our Olympic Capital team added their final signatures.

Thank you everyone, and off we go to our next epic journey!
